Maus File Mover
1. Overview
This web part allows you to efficiently move or copy files between document libraries across your SharePoint environment.
Features:
- Move files between libraries in the same site or across different sites
- Copy files while keeping the originals in place
- Overwrite existing files option
- Batch operations for multiple files
Important Notes:
- You need appropriate permissions on both source and target libraries
- Moving files removes them from the source location
- Copying files leaves the originals in place
- Maximum 5 files can be processed at once
2. Web Part Configuration
You can change the web part title and other configurations by following these steps:
Step 1: Navigate to the top right corner of the page and click the Edit button.
Step 2: Click on the Edit web part icon .
Step 3: The property panel will appear on the right side.
3. Web Part Data Properties
3.1 WebPart Title
The name displayed in the header summarizing the function[cite: 53].
3.2 Webpart Configuration
Click "Open Webpart Configuration" to access advanced settings[cite: 53]:
- Config Site: The SharePoint site where settings are saved to a dedicated list for reuse.A dedicated configuration list will be created in this site if it does not already exist.All settings from this configuration panel are persisted to that list, enabling the same configuration to be reused across multiple instances of this web part.
- Allowed Target: Defines the operation scope (Current Site, Any Site in Tenant, or Any Site in Any Tenant).
Current Site and Subsites - limits copy operations to the current SharePoint site collection and its subsites within the same tenant.
Any Site in Current Tenant - allows copy operations to any SharePoint site within the current Microsoft 365 tenant.
Any Site in Any Tenant - enables cross-tenant copy operations and allows copying files to sites in other tenants. Contact Maus support to enable this option. - Target Connection: Determines how the web part connects to target SharePoint sites for file copy operations.Choose between "Current User Context" or "Azure App Credentials" for elevated permissions.
Current User Context- uses the permissions of the currently logged-in user and may be limited by the user’s access rights.
Azure App Credentials- utilizes an Azure AD application with explicitly granted permissions, enabling elevated access scenarios such as tenant-wide or cross-tenant operations. Contact Maus support to enable this option.
Grant Access to Maus Azure App- allows you to grant the Maus Azure AD application the necessary permissions to perform file copy operations on your behalf. Contact Maus support to enable this option.
3.3 Clear Configuration Cache
Clear webpart configuration from local cache and reload from SharePoint list.
4. Web Part Functionality
- Select Source Library: Pick the document library containing your files.
- Choose Files: Select up to 5 files to process.
- Select Target Site: Choose the destination SharePoint site.
- Select Target Library: Pick the destination folder.
- Configure Options: Toggle between "Move" (removes from source) and "Copy," and decide if you want to overwrite existing files.
- Submit: Click to start the operation.
