Document States/Usage In SharePoint Site


The requirement was to track document managment usage in a SharePoint site collection. Calculate SharePoint usage metrics, specifically the number of documents in each document library and list attachments.Solution parsed all document libraries and lists in each sub sites within a site collection.The end result is an Excel Service BI page , that has all the data assimilated in a single place- so it can be sliced and diced in Excel. BI solution will show documents state in a very user friendly graph and chart filtered on sites and dates created.A SP Timer job is used to automatically generate a new report every week. The solution intelligently includes only user documents.
